Originally constructed in 1854 as a private residence and designed in Itianante style, this seaside estate has been historically restored with modern amenities. Local fieldstone, granite and beach sand timelessly intersect with glass tile, reclaimed wood and Venetian plaster. Each room in the Stone House was designed with distinctive characteristics, modern amenities and historical details.
Guest rooms in the Stone House vary in style and décor. All guest rooms feature our signature Stone House Gourmet Corner, custom designer quilts by quilt designer Denise Schmitt, iPod docking stations, and historical details. Several rooms feature fireplaces, heated bathroom floors and water views. Complimentary services for all guests include wireless Internet access, a selection of board and lawn games, access to Round Pond Beaches and breakfast is always included.
A new addition with the recent renovation, the Warren is a spacious one bedroom guest suite. With its own private entrance and featuring over 600 square feet, this loft style guest suite is handicap accessible and has a large sitting area, bedroom and fireplace.
The Bailey is located on the west side of the ground floor of the Historic Inn, with access to 175 square feet of outdoor living space. Featuring original stonewalls and custom millwork this guest room offers a spacious and open feeling. Access the outdoor living space and private patio through 3 sets of French doors and enjoy a magical retreat in the early morning or evening.
The Star suite joins the original ballroom of the estate and the previously known Star bedroom into one beautifully designed suite on the southeast side of the Historic Inn. A full private porch on the southeast side provides spectacular views of the Atlantic and Round Pond as well as wonderful sunrises and sunsets. Inside there is a large sitting area, a floating king bed with windows to the south and a fireplace to the north.
The views only improve as you wind your way up the Inn's historic staircase; the Berry provides spectacular water views and sunsets from its private wraparound porch. The Berry features a fireplace, king bed, private sitting room and grand bath space, including a separate soaking tub and shower.
The Lantern comprises the entire fourth floor, including the recently restored rooftop cupola providing 360 degree views of Little Compton, Cutty Hunk, Martha's Vineyard, Elizabeth Islands, Sakonnet Light House, and just about everything else within 100 miles. This guest room's amenities include, a king bed and stylish sitting area. Take a walk up the spiral stairway to the cupola; the Lantern has a glass floor which floods the room with light. The 15 foot diameter glass Lantern makes the room one of the most unique in the country.
The Henry Sisson Suite sits atop the top third floor stairs to the left and the David is on the right. The Henry Sisson contains historic details of the original bedroom of Henry Sisson. In the Eastlake fashion, the sitting room has wonderfully restored original millwork, wainscoting, and welcomes you to the suite before entering the bedroom. Perfect for families who require more space, The Henry Sisson offers a pull out sleeper sofa, a king bed and the most unique sleeping room in the inn, featuring a Japanese Style deep soak tub at the foot of a lavish queen bed.
The David Sisson is an 862 square foot two bedroom and two-bathroom suite on the third floor of the Historic Inn. The front parlor faces south and west and the bedrooms are quietly tucked on the north and west sides with spacious bathrooms for each. Emphasizing enchanting views of the Atlantic and Round Pond, the David Sisson is ideal for families who require more space.
Originally thought to be an outdoor garden area, the Alden has an original stonewall that runs the entire length of the suite. Offering exclusive access via its private entrance on the east side of the ground floor of the Historic Inn, this one bedroom guest room extends through to the west side of the building. The bathroom has a soaking tub just behind the bed, separate shower, and custom millwork. The Alden features a fireplace and a spacious sitting area.
Nestled in the northeast corner of the Historic Inn, the Nathaniel is a thoughtfully designed one bedroom guest room. This lovely guest suite provides 375 square feet of relaxing living space, a soaking bath and shower combination and a private porch facing west all accessible by the recently added "hidden entrance."
A necessary addition to the main house, The Wood Barn was constructed in 1870 to shelter the estate's horses and a hay loft. The Sisson family, the original owner of the Stone House, would take the day-long journey in carriages from Providence to their cottage at the sea.

The Osprey Suite is located on the third floor of the Wood Barn. With a residential design, this amazingly spacious suite provides one bedroom featuring a king bed, fireplace, spacious sitting as well as a spa inspired bath suite with Japanese style deep soaking tub and steam shower.
The Heron rooms are located on the second floor. These amazingly spacious suites provide one bedroom featuring a king bed, fireplace and sitting area, as well as a spa inspired bath suite.
The Heron A room features a square Japanese style deep soaking tub, while the Heron room features a rectangular soaking tub. Both Heron rooms include a private balcony.
